Wallpaper Quantity Calculator

Our wallpaper calculator provides an estimated guide based on a standard European/UK wallpaper roll, typically 10.05 metres long and 52–53 centimetres wide (approximately 5 square metres per roll).

Please note this calculator does not allow for uneven or sloping walls, nor does it deduct doors or windows. For large openings, you may wish to adjust measurements before entering them. Always check whether wallpaper packaging is listed in metric or imperial measurements, if purchased elsewhere.

This tool is provided as a guide only. We cannot take responsibility for quantities calculated on wallpapers not supplied by us. Professional measurement and advice are recommended prior to purchase and are available through our on-site consultation service.

Caring for your Wallpaper

Proper care helps maintain the appearance and longevity of your wallpaper. Following the simple do’s and don’ts below will help protect your wall coverings and ensure they continue to perform as intended.

  1. Allow proper curing
Leave wallpaper untouched for at least 7 days after installation to allow adhesives to fully cure.

  2. Dust Gently
Use a soft, dry cloth or duster to remove surface dust regularly.

  3. Clean lightly when needed
For wallpapers labelled washable, use a damp cloth with clean water or a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Always wipe gently.

  4. Maintain good ventilation
Ensure adequate airflow, particularly in kitchens, bathrooms, and high-humidity areas.

  5. Act early if issues appear
Address lifting, bubbling, or damage promptly to prevent further deterioration.

  6. Follow manufacturer instructions
Care requirements vary by material and finish—always refer to the wallpaper manufacturer’s guidelines.

Do's:

Dont's:

  • Use harsh, abrasive, or chemical cleaning agents

  • Scrub or use rough sponges or brushes

  • Saturate wallpaper with water

  • Apply tape, adhesives, or removable hooks directly to wallpaper

  • Hang artwork or fixtures without proper fixings, as piercing wallpaper can cause tearing or lifting

  • Allow prolonged moisture or steam exposure

  • Expose wallpaper to prolonged direct sunlight without appropriate window coverings, as fading may occur

  • Use steam cleaners or heat tools on wallpapered walls

  • Ignore minor issues that may worsen over time
